Main Camp
The Main camp comprises of 7 rooms, each equipped with en-suite facilities. The camp is divided into 2 separate blocks, the one block comprising of rooms 1, 2, 3 while the other block contains rooms 4,5,6,7. Rooms 1 and 2 are inter-leading and rooms 1,2,6 and 7 of encompasses bush and garden view verandas. Rooms are equipped twin beds and both the restaurant and reception is situated at this lodge.
Mahogany Lodge
The Mahogany Lodge has been converted from an old farm house into a captivating lodge. It is within walking distance to the Paperbark Lodge. The lodge comprises of 6 rooms, with en-suite facilities that are situated around a central lounge. Twin beds feature in each bedroom and guests can enjoy leisurable hours of serenity in the private swimming pool that is shared with Paperbark lodge guests. Mahogany lodge comprises of wooden floors with a lovely fire place in the lounge.
Mahogany Rondawel
The cosy rondawel is situated next door to the Mahogany Lodge, overlooking the swimming pool and has a quaint little veranda where guests can enjoy sun downers. The Mahogany Rondawel is equipped with wooden floors, a luxurious bathroom and twin beds that can be made into a double on request. The Mahogany Rondawel is ideal for honeymooners.
Paperbark Lodge
Paperbark lodge is the largest on the Tala Reserve, with seventeen luxury suites and a charming honeymooner's rondawel overlooking the lodge's rockpool. Paperbark's Premier Suite features a four-poster bed, a sitting room and a spacious bathroom with ball and claw tub.
Figtree Lodge
Figtree Lodge comprises of 5 rooms, all situated around a central lounge and each room is equipped with an en-suite bathroom. Each room contains twin beds and all rooms have a door to the outside.
Fisherman Cottages
These 2 cottages contain 4 beds in each, but split up in 3 departments of 2 bedrooms and a small sitting area. The cottages make use of gas as it is not equipped with electricity. Guests will make use of a communal bathroom and kitchen. The cottages overlook the game reserve and a water hole.
Rondawels
The 2 rondawels are each equipped with 2 single beds and is situated by a pond. The rondawels are secluded to ensure privacy and is equipped with both in and outdoor showers. Guests will make use of a communal kitchen or barbecue area and the rondawels run off gas as electricity is not available.
Rustic Accommodation
This accommodation is self-catering, only linen is supplied. The A-frame lodgings run off electricity, consists of 2 single beds and guests residing here will make use of a communal kitchen or barbecue area and bathroom. This lodging is a brick building with a thatch roof resembling a tent, which is situated near the swimming pool. There are also 5 A frame Huts available.
Leadwood Lodge:
Leadwood lodge is the culmination of a dream. The residence of Tala's owner, the lodge is an architectural masterpiece built from hardwoods, glass and local shale. Leadwood is a place to indulge, to be inspired by the magnificent view, transported by the superb cuisine and pampered by world-class service.
Aloe Lodge:
Aloe Lodge is centrally located in the reserve, and is where one finds the La Tala Restaurant has won wide acclaim for its exceptional cuisine and superb cellar. Its large stone fireplace, warm ambience and ample space for dining, provides an ideal choice for all gatherings.

From Pietermaritzburg take the Eston / Umlaas Road R603 off-ramp. Travel for 13kms toward Eston. Cross Mlazi River. Tala Private Game Reserve located on the left. From South Coast N2 take Eston off-ramp. Travel for 57kms. Tala Private Game Reserve is situated on the right.
From Durban, take Camperdown off-ramp. Keep left for 13kms toward Eston. Cross the Mlazi River. The Tala Private Game Reserve is on the left.
