Named after Colonel Stephenson Hamilton, who was instrumental in establishing the world famous Kruger National Park, Hamilton's Tented Camp reflects a safari adventure of the early twentieth century, where grace and style were the epitome of luxurious living.
With a fine tradition of luxury in true 'Out of Africa' style, you'll enjoy the journey - open vehicle safari, walking safari or seasonal Makoro trips along the Ngwenyeni watercourse. DINING:
Hamiltons Tented Camp offers silver-service dining overlooking the river, where magnificent cuisine freshly prepared to your satisfaction, offers a menu as extensive as the African wilderness. Private dining is a romantic alternative, and bush picnics can also be arranged.
The water at Hamiltons Tented Camp is safe to drink, although complimentary bottled water is placed in your room. Special dietary requirements are catered for, so please inform staff in advance if necessary.

Hamilton's Tented Camp offers a unique safari experience characterised by luxury and privacy. Six magnificent tents sleep 12 people and 6 Double Rooms, all with flowing mosquito nets, slipper bath and a superb view of the Ngwenyeni dam are linked by raised timber walkways amongst ancient Jackalberry trees. Gate Entrance Fees:
Fees are currently R30 per person for RSA ID/passport holders, R60 per person for SADC ID/passport holders, and R120 per person for other passport holders. Please retain your receipt or permit, as it must be handed back to the attendant at the gate on departure.
DIRECTIONS TO HAMILTONS TENTED CAMP
ORPEN GATE ENTRY:
(Estimated Driving Time: 2 hours)
o Take the H7 towards Satara
o Drive for approximately 6.7km
o Turn right onto the S106 (Dirt Road)
o After 1.6km, turn right onto the S140 towards Talamati
o After 19.5km, turn right onto the S145
o After 13kms you will reach a T-junction, turn right onto the S36
o 6.5kms further the roads forks, keep right (follow the Hamiltons signage and proceed through the no entry sign)
o Carry on along this road for 2kms, going through a low water bridge
o Approximately 400 meters after the low water bridge turn right at the no entry sign
o Take the first road to your right and you will find Hamiltons Tented Camp.
Gate Entrance Times:
Please be aware of gate entrance times into Kruger National Park as they do vary throughout the year, depending on the season. Entrance into the park via Orpen Gate should be no later than two hours prior to gate closure time and via Kruger Gate should be no later than three hours prior to gate closure times.
Speed Limit:
Whilst driving within the Kruger National Park, please adhere to the legal speed limit of 50km per hour on tarred roads and 40km per
